DeSci AMA
Tune in to the AMA for a deep dive into DeSci with industry experts and find out what the DAO has planned!
When: Monday, Sept. 5th
Time: 5PM UTC | 7PM CET | 1PM EST
Every week, we host “Village Talk” sessions on Twitter, where we speak to different web3 experts and BUIDLers. Last week, we hosted three Village Talk events:
AMA
We started our week on Monday with Stader Labs learning about their platform.
Stader Labs is a liquid staking protocol. Liquid staking means that you’re able to actually use your staked tokens. Stader allows users to stake and deposit their $MATIC tokens and receive an equal amount of $MaticX tokens (representing their staked tokens). Users then take MaticX and use it across DeFi platforms to potentially earn extra yield.
Listen to the full AMA with Stader Labs below.
Expert talk & Project Pitches
Every Wednesday, we speak to different web3 experts and give the floor to two new projects as they pitch their platforms.
Expert Talk:
Last week, we had an expert from Biconomy, a multi-chain relayer protocol making a frictionless cross-chain experience. Here was the agenda for the conversation:
An introduction to the Biconomy platform
The importance of cross-chain activity
Our cross-chain experiences today and how it’s evolving
Case studies: How has Biconomy helped so far?
Check out the full talk with Biconomy below.
Project Pitches:
The two projects we had pitching to the community last week are:
Kaafila: enabling virtual learning and working in the metaverse. They offer virtual classrooms with 100+ courses and certificates and virtual offices with industry perks and expos.
DeltaTheta: an option’s DEX powered by the $DLTA token.
You can listen to the whole recording below to learn more about these projects.
Grantee AMA
We end each week by speaking to one of our previous grantees, and last Friday, we had the amazing opportunity to speak to VeVerse.
VeVerse is a platform allowing creators & brands to create, invest in, play, and grow their own metaverse.
Next Week’s Events Schedule
Monday, September 5th at 5 PM UTC | 10:00 AM PST: DeSci Launch AMA
Thursday, September 8th at 2:30 PM UTC | 7:30 AM PST: AMA with Party Finance
Friday, September 9th at 3:30 PM UTC | 8:30 AM PST: Grantee AMA with CrickDAO

Vote For Bounty Contest Final Round Begins
We’re down to the final round of the DAO Bounty Contest!
The Bounty Contest is an initiative by Polygon DAO, where one selected project will receive $15K in funding, vouchers, and more.
Projects go against one another in a “winner moves on” format until we reach our winner, and it’s all decided by the community using Polygon ID.
We’ve had some great projects all throughout the competition, but now we are down to the final two:
Zinar NFT vs. Satyug VR
Voting ends Tuesday, so make sure to head to the grail website and cast your vote - you can even win some merch.
Storage & Hosting
Storage and Hosting are crucial for businesses to have in today’s world (just look at the rise of Amazon’s AWS service), and that’s why Polygon DAO has partnered with four amazing projects offering storage and hosting service vouchers to Village projects.
Introduction to Storage and Hosting
In short, storage and hosting services allow you to store and access information.
Most companies today use centralized servers to host their data - think AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, etc.). However, as we now know, centralized solutions have several downsides, such as data leaks, censorship, and privacy.
These providers allow developers to quickly launch their websites and applications without managing their own servers.
How Is Web3 Storage Better?
Decentralized storage provides the following benefits, as opposed to its web2 counterparts:
Security: Having a decentralized peer-to-peer network means there is no single point of failure. If one peer goes down, your data is still safe.
Censorship resistance: A peer-to-peer network puts the power in the hands of the community.
Privacy: Using cryptography, we can now own our own data with web3 storage & hosting providers.
Cost: One of the main benefits of web3 providers is, of course, cost.
What Do Village Projects Receive?
Polygon DAO has partnered with top-tier protocols to provide Village projects with free access to decentralized storage and hosting.
Projects that get accepted to the Village program will be able to get free access to services provided by the following projects:

Village story #5 - VeVerse
This week we want to highlight a Polygon DAO grantee - VeVerse.
What is VeVerse
VeVerse is a platform enabling users to launch and own their own metaverse, providing tools for creators and brands to build any virtual experience. Whether it’s a video game, an educational experience, a digital workplace, a digital tour, an art museum, etc.
How It Works
Any creator or brand is able to use the tools and infrastructure provided by VeVerse to create and grow their own metaverse, or virtual space.
Every world that is created on VeVerse is minted as an NFT on Polygon, meaning any game or experience built on the platform will be tradeable.
What’s Next
VeVerse will not only be releasing its “metaverse SDK”, but it will also be launching its public beta testnet.
Once this testnet goes live, users can build and publish their own digital experience using the “metaverse SDK.”
How Did Polygon DAO Help
VeVerse received Polygon Village support. Not only could they receive funding, but they could also take advantage of a few service vouchers provided by some of our amazing partners - Certik, Tatum, and Infura.
To learn more about VeVerse, you can head over to their Twitter or Discord.
