Vote For Bounty Contest Updates
The Vote for Bounty Contest is an initiative by Polygon DAO, where one selected project will receive $15K in funding, as well as other Village initiatives, such as service vouchers, access to our job board, and more.
This contest is a great way of showcasing the power of Polygon ID and how it will help shape a decentralized future, as the community itself gets to vote for the winner.
The contest consists of multiple rounds, where in each round, projects get paired with one another, and the community votes (using Polygon ID) for the team that moves on to the next round. This will go on until we find our sole winner.
1st Round Winners
Last week, the 1st round of the Bounty Contest began, and we all got to vote using our Polygon ID for who we wanted to move to the second round.
Here are the Round 1 winners:
2nd Round Begins
Round 2 has now begun and will run until Sunday, August 28th at 14:00 GMT. This means you have until then to cast your vote!
Matchups are as follows:
Zinax vs Polygon Alliance
Satyug vs Imaginary
Of course, all voters have a chance of winning merch. The more you vote, the higher your chances of winning.
Starting in September, the DAO will launch a new vertical within Polygon Village - Decentralized Science (DeSci).
This new vertical is meant to support projects in scientific research and provide DeSci projects with the following dedicated Village support:
Grants & Vouchers
Mentoring & Guidance
Expert Talks & Posts
Dedicated DeSci channel for ideas & discussions
You can learn more about it here.
Every week, we host “Village Talk” sessions on Twitter, where we speak to different web3 experts and BUIDLers. Last week, we hosted two Village Talk events:

Village story #4 - Banxa
This week we want to highlight our upcoming AMA guest, as well as one of our Village voucher partners, Banxa.
Banxa is a fiat on & off-ramp provider - connecting individuals, exchanges, and wallets into the fiat world.
What are on/off ramps
If you’ve ever purchased crypto with fiat, you’ve used an on-ramp solution, or in other words, a crypto gateway.
On-ramp: fiat to crypto
Off-ramp: crypto to fiat
How does Banxa help projects and builders?
The current user flow into web3 is a bit complicated. Users are required to know what a wallet is, how to purchase tokens, etc.
Banxa wants to lower this barrier of entry into web3 by enabling developers to bring Banxa’s utility directly into their apps. Integrating Banxa into your NFT platform, for example, will allow users to purchase directly from your app using their credit cards.
The ideal user flow Banxa hopes to create is allowing users with limited knowledge to be able to interact directly with web3 apps.
Use Cases
Defi projects: They’re helping bring extra liquidity into the space by allowing them to support new assets such as governance assets or stablecoins.
Banxa has already integrated into several exchanges, like Binance, KuCoin, and Gate.io, allowing them to target users from specific geo-locations (UK, Europe, Australia).
Wallets: They have partnered with different wallets, such as Argent, allowing them to gain a new revenue stream.
NFTs: Banxa recently helped a web2 alcohol company sell their NFT collection on their site using credit cards. Making the user experience as smooth as possible for their established customers, who may not have experience in web3.
If you’re interested to learn more about Banxa, or if you have any questions you may want to ask, be sure to catch our upcoming AMA session with them.
Banxa is one of our Village partners, providing early-stage developers with access to Banxa’s service vouchers.
Tune in Thursday, September 1st at 6:00 AM PST for the Banxa AMA.
Our gossip column includes news and updates from all across web3, with a bit of bias towards the Polygon ecosystem, of course.

Degen Wizard
Here are some of the “whispers” & “hacks” we heard from the Degen Wizard.
Whispers:
For anyone looking for some multisig tools - Here are two, one for private multisig, and one for checking the Gnosis Safe status.
Things at Fei just keep getting worse - it seems like a lot of users who were affected by the recent hack, will not get reimbursed.
Defi Hacks:
Arthur Hayes posted this article last week, explaining what he thinks will happen to ETH price post-merge. Not financial advice of course.
There has been a terrible bug that could potentially lead to the loss of funds in your browser wallet - you might want to update your chrome browser now.
BendDAO is a platform that allows its users to deposit their NFTs as collateral, to essentially buy more NFTs. During this recent downfall in NFT volume (and price), a lot of accounts on the platforms have been approaching the liquidation level. This could all lead to a liquidation spiral soon.
You can head over to our community Discord & subscribe to our “alpha alerts” to receive notifications from the Wizard.
Key highlights from the Job Board this week include:
There are now 606 jobs on the platform from 123 different projects
32 jobs got listed in the last week, across job functions by Chainlink, UNXD, Hike, Decentral Games, Pillow, Electron Labs, IDEX, Quicknode etc.
We witnessed around 1300 job applications last week.
